Larry Barnes Jackson Tn Obituary

Larry Wendell Barnes, 84, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 21, 2025 at his home in Jackson, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.

Larry was born on April 28, 1941 in Spring Creek, Tennessee, to the late Earon Sr. and Lucille Barnes. He was a faithful member of Northside Church. After graduating from high school in 1960, Larry began a long and dedicated career at McCowat-Mercer Packaging, where he worked faithfully for 44 years until his retirement in 1997.

Larry was known for his generous heart and giving nature, always willing to help others in any way he could. In his spare time, he found great joy in gardening and working in his yard. Above all else, Larry was a devoted father and an extraordinary grandfather. His three grandsons were the pride and joy of his life, and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with them. He cherished traveling with them, attending their sporting events, and being actively involved in their lives. He played a significant and loving role in raising them, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.

Larry is survived by his wife, Janice Wright Barnes; daughter, Christie Barnes Bradley (King, Jr.); three beloved grandsons, Brennan Lee Bradley of Dallas, Texas, Hayden Barnes Bradley of Jackson, Tennessee and River Braden Bradley of Medina, Tennessee; and one sister, Martha Jane Howell (Bill) of Spring Creek, Tennessee.
