Katie Mott Announces Candidacy for Madison County Commissioner, District 7

MADISON COUNTY – Katie Mott, a lifelong Madison County resident, has officially announced her candidacy for Madison County Commission, District 7, bringing a strong focus on community-driven solutions and strengthening the connection between county government and the residents it serves.

“It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve District 7 and give back to a community that has given my family and friends so much,” Mott said.

With deep, multi-generational family roots in Madison County, Mott was raised in the Mercer/Denmark community and has a strong appreciation for both the rural and residential areas of District 7. She currently serves as Assistant Vice President and Treasury Management Officer at West TN Bank, where she brings a proven background in fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and thoughtful growth.

Mott’s education includes the Southeastern School of Banking at Belmont University, the Southeastern School of Lending, and Jackson State Community College.

Katie and her husband, Tom, live on their family farm in the Huntersville community, where two of their sons were raised and continue to raise their youngest. Deeply rooted in Madison County’s rural community, the Motts are active members of Ararat Baptist Church.

Mott has a long history of community involvement and service. She serves as a board member and incoming Secretary of the Leadership Jackson Alumni Association, is a board member and multi-committee volunteer with The Scarlet Rope Project and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Jackson and a Chamber Red Coat. Known as a hands-on volunteer, Mott brings strong relationships, a servant’s heart, and a deep understanding of both community and rural needs.

“Staying connected to the community, listening to what matters most to each individual and family, and carrying those voices into every decision will always be my priority,” Mott said.
