‘It’s our job to serve’: Christmas means work as usual for first responders

JACKSON, Tenn. — While many families are celebrating together for the holiday, the work doesn’t stop for first responders.

At Station 4 of the Jackson Fire Department, Christmas morning is spent a little differently.

With the fire station open 24 hours, someone has to fill those boots and that means working the Christmas shift.

Jackson can rest assured that these first responders are ready to protect their community.

“Because it’s our job to serve the community, the citizens of Jackson, that’s what we signed up to do, so that’s why we’re here,” said Captain Matthew Brown.

The Jackson Fire Department is actively seeking dedicated men and women to join their team. Click here to learn more.
