Billie Jo White
Billie Jo White, age 85, a loving and kind soul, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the Haywood County Community Hospital in Brownsville, TN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home with Bro. David Aton officiating. Burial will follow at the Brownsville Memorial Gardens in Brownsville, TN. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
Born on May 13, 1940, in Altoona, AL, she brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered throughout her life. Billie dedicated many years as the Nanny for Donnie and Beverly Hatcher, showcasing her nurturing spirit and devotion to the well-being of those around her. Her proudest accomplishments included serving as Chaplain for the Jackson Madison County General Hospital until the age of 77. She had an undeniable love for children, teaching children’s church and driving the church bus, where her influence helped shape the lives of many young individuals. Above all, Billie loved the Lord and leaves a legacy of love and faith.
Billie is survived by her beloved son, Will White (Amber) of Jonestown, PA; her daughters, Darlene Russell and Vanessa Watson (Ricky), both of Brownsville, TN; as well as her grandchildren, Joe Martin (Sherry), Maggie Cantrell (Bobby), Jonathan Pilkington (Britney), Jeremy and Drake Stanfield, Bradley White, Megan White, and Kelly White. Additionally, she is cherished by multiple great-grandchildren, whose lives she touched deeply.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William White; her parents, William and Margaret Collins Brogdon; her son, Phillip White; her daughter, Margaret Joyce Saint; her brother, James Brogdon; her sisters, Sue Stevens and Jean; and her grandchild, Wayne Russell.
Pallbearers for the service will be Joe Martin, Will White, Zach Arnold, Jonathan Pilkington, Jeremy Stanfield and Drake Stanfield.
