City of Dresden, Mayor hear from community members during monthly forum
DRESDEN, Tenn. — The City of Dresden and Mayor Mark Maddox hosted a forum for community members to share concerns and ask questions Monday.

The mayor’s forum is hosted every month, two weeks before the regular board meeting.
Monday night, they spoke about issues such as a storm drain problem on Parkway in Dresden that’s been causing problems for 9-10 months.
“Before I became mayor, the state legislature passed a new law that allowed citizen input, actually a minute of law that already allowed citizen input but the item had to be on the agenda,” said Mayor Maddox. “We came up with this idea that we would have this mayor’s forum and they can come say whatever they needed to say, that way they wouldn’t have to be on the agenda.”
Also brought up during the meeting, a local officer who recently failed one of the challenges at the police academy was given a second chance.
