SUSPECT APPREHENDED AFTER HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

CROCKETT COUNTY, TN – [December 30, 2025] – This morning, a Crockett County Deputy and Tennessee State Trooper clocked a black SUV speeding at 63 mph in a 45 mph zone on Old Jackson Road. The officers initiated a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply and led law enforcement on an approximate 25-mile pursuit. Multiple agencies, including the Humboldt Police Department, Alamo Police Department, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, and Gadsden Police Department, swiftly joined in to assist.

One of the suspects bailed out and ran while the other suspect attempted to flee in the vehicle. Humboldt Police Department immediately set up a perimeter and officers quickly took two individuals into custody. Officers discovered a duffle bag containing a large amount of marijuana and a loaded handgun.

Sheriff Troy Klyce expressed his gratitude for the collaborative effort that led to the successful conclusion of the incident. “We recently upgraded our radio system to prioritize safety for both our officers and the community, and today’s swift coordination with numerous agencies showcased the true value of these improvements. Seamless communication with the Tennessee Advanced Communication Network and excellent teamwork from all law enforcement officers were key in ensuring this suspect was brought to justice.”

Sheriff Klyce also emphasized the increasing trend of individuals attempting to evade law enforcement and cautioned against such actions, stating, “Felony evading is a serious charge – think twice before running from officers.”

The Crockett County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community and will continue to work diligently with partner agencies to protect our citizens.
