Dr. Kerri Anne Breeden named new JMCSS Chief of Staff

Jackson-Madison County Schools is pleased to introduce Dr. Kerri Anne Breeden as the district’s new Chief of Staff.

Dr. Breeden most recently served as Chief Compliance and Learning Officer and brings more than two decades of experience across a wide range of educational settings at both the school and district levels.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as Chief of Staff for the Jackson-Madison County School System,” Dr. Breeden said. “JMCSS plays a vital role in shaping the future of our community, and I am proud to support the important work happening across our schools each day. I look forward to working alongside district leadership, educators, staff, families, and community partners to strengthen collaboration, support district priorities, and ensure our shared focus remains on student success.”

Her career includes service as a federal programs director, elementary school principal, middle school principal, and high school principal.

Dr. Breeden has worked alongside Superintendent Dr. Marlon King for more than a decade, building a strong professional partnership rooted in trust, shared values, and a commitment to student success.

Dr. King notes that her leadership, judgment, and professionalism will be a tremendous asset to the district’s students, schools, and staff.

Dr. Breedn replaces Melissa Spurgeon. Spurgeon was recently named President and CEO of the Community Foundation.
