JPD investigating fatal shooting

JACKSON, Tenn.–One person is dead following a shooting Sunday morning in Jackson.

According to JPD the shooting occurred in the parking lot of a Jackson restaurant. The Jackson Police Department released the following statement regarding the incident.

Jackson Police Department Investigating Fatal Shooting

Jackson, TN — The Jackson Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 31-year-old man early this morning.

At approximately 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of King Baba’s Restaurant, 76 Old Hickory Blvd East. Upon arrival, officers determined that several shots had been fired at the location.

Shortly thereafter, officers were notified that a man had been transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds. The victim later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Schuyler Jarvell Taylor, 31-years-old, of Whiteville, Tennessee.
