New Pleasant FWB Church hosts its New Year’s Communion

SAVANNAH, Tenn.—One local church is helping others start off 2026 on a good note. One of reflection, repentance, and hopes for a faith filled year.

New Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Savannah hosted its New Year’s Communion service Sunday morning.

The church located at 109 Freewill Lane in Savannah welcomed members old or new and visitors to take part in its communion service.

The service was offered to encourage participants to enjoy a 2026 filled with faith, happy times, and high hopes for continued spiritual growth and blessings.

The day also included bible classes, praise service, and its traditional worship time with an uplifting message delivered by Pastor Caine Coffey.

“This is the perfect time for communion to remember what Jesus did for us, that he died. And that’s the only reason we have salvation that we have hope. Today’s message we preached about how we’ve all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, we have all made a lot of mistakes in our life, but it’s never too late to come back home. To come to the Lord. Jesus is what we need to remember, that his love and his mercy, and what he did at Calvary was forever, it was eternal,” Pastor Coffey said.

The next event planned by New Pleasant Grove is its nursing home ministry service. That will take place January 11 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Hardin Home Nursing Home in Savannah.
