Madison County mayor details plans for 2026 in State of the County address

JACKSON, Tenn. — Mayor AJ Massey shared his administration’s upcoming plans for this year.

The Jackson Exchange Club hosted Madison County Mayor AJ Massey for his address at the old country store where he laid out his plans.

Massey’s primary goals focused on industrializing, transportation, and improving Madison County’s quality of life.

Throughout the address, Massey emphasized his commitment to the people in his county.

“We’re committed to defining the future of Madison County, what we promised was responsible leadership, what we delivered was progress–as you can see–and what’s next is a Madison County that continues to grow stronger, safer, and more prepared for the future,” said Massey.

The Madison County Highway Department maintains 717 roads, which includes almost 690 miles of roadway within the county.

While many residents experience issues on the road, Massey said his administration is dedicated to that issue among others.

While tax dollars provide upkeep and maintenance for a variety of things, Massey ensures Madison County that their money isn’t going to waste.

“No tax increases is a promise from my office and were able to spend your tax dollars wisely once again coming in under budget every year, and year out, to making sure that tax money is spent wisely and spent efficiently and spent in ways that does direct impact to the citizens,” said Massey.

Massey hopes to continue to invest and improve upon previous projects like the Workforce Development Center and the Madison County Juvenile Justice Center.

He also plans to reinvest in childcare facilities which he states will impact citizens, primarily in the work force.

Mayor Massey plans to continue investment in parks, roads, and industry going forward this year.
