Sandra Kay Waltrip
Sandra Kay Waltrip, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Jackson, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and joy that will be cherished by all who knew her. Born on June 8, 1957, in Wyoming, Sandra was a woman of great spirit and heart, a true reflection of the beauty and complexity of life.
Sandra dedicated a significant portion of her career to Super Service LLC, a well-respected OTR Freight Trucking company, where her commitment and hard work were appreciated by colleagues and clients alike. However, her professional accomplishments pale in comparison to the depth of love she shared with her family and friends.
She graduated from high school in Rock Springs, Wyoming, in 1975 before pursuing further education at Ultimate Medical Academy, graduating in 2013. This tireless pursuit of knowledge was testament to her belief in the importance of education and self-improvement.
Sandra’s personality shone brightly through her numerous passions and interests. She was a devoted Alabama football fan, proudly declaring “ROLL TIDE!” and playfully stating, “She was never perfect, but at least she was never an Auburn Fan.”. Her love for humor was profound, often spending hours watching her favorite shows, including the timeless Carol Burnett and the clever George Carlin, alongside the comfort of old cartoons that brought her joy.
Music was another great love in Sandra’s life. As a self-proclaimed “Parrot Head,” she found joy and peace in the tunes of Jimmy Buffett, which often provided the soundtrack to cherished moments spent with family. Sandra also had a creative and nurturing side evident in her love for quilting. Spending time collecting different fabrics and playing word games was a celebration of her artistic spirit and intellect.
One of Sandra’s proudest accomplishments was the love she had for her family, particularly her role as a mother. Adopting her children and showering each one with unconditional love created a family bound by an unbreakable bond. She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Eddie Duane Waltrip, who was her steadfast partner through all of life’s adventures. Their love story is one of resilience, laughter, and unwavering support.
Sandra leaves behind five children who carry her spirit forward: sons Lonnie Shane Waltrip, and Dylan Duane Waltrip; daughters Rebecca Jean Waltrip and Amanda Felton. Her grandchildren, Devan Duane Waltrip, Elizabeth Paige Waltrip, Lindsy Waltrip, and Harley Waltrip, will remember her warmth and kindness, each having been touched deeply by their grandmother’s love.
She joins in eternal rest with her father, Willis Amos, her mother, Sylvia Amos, and her sons, Richard Duane Waltrip and Jeremy Duane Waltrip, who will surely greet her with opened arms, welcoming her back home.
The tapestry of Sandra’s life was woven together by love, laughter, and a dedication that will continue to inspire all who loved her. Her vibrant spirit will be missed dearly, but she will live on in the hearts and memories of her family and friends, always a guiding light in their lives.
