Ribbon cutting held in Bolivar for Mercy Church

BOLIVAR, Tenn.—A community gathers to officially welcome a new church to town.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for Mercy Church located at 105 North Main Street in Bolivar.

Pastor Zach Parsons owned the building and says he had a vision of creating a new church.

The church originally opened its doors in November of 2025 but with the holiday season, only now was able to host its official ribbon cutting ceremony.

Church members, members from the Hardeman County Chamber of Commerce and supporters from the community joined in the happy occasion.

Mercy Church is led by Pastor Parsons, and Associate Pastor C.J. Strickland whom are graciously supported by their families.

The “Assemblies of God” style church is a “come as you are” facility, bible based and committed to serving others and spreading the gospel of Jesus.

“We’ve had the community really come together, and people come together cause we have the heart for the broken and heart to see Jesus move in people’s lives and wrapping their arms around it. And we’re real, as you can see, I’m wearing a ball cap. You don’t have to dress a certain way, be a certain way. Jesus expects you to come as you are! And that’s what we expect as a church and that’s our heart, just to love on people as Jesus would love them,”  said Zach Parsons, Pastor.

Services are held every Wednesday night at 6:30 and Sunday mornings at 10:30.
