Chipping of the Greens free mulch pickup on Saturday, January 17th
JACKSON, Tenn. — The trees are recycled and the mulch is ready for pick up.

This past week Jackson did its annual chipping of the greens.
Residents were able to drop off Christmas trees or schedule a tree pick up.
The city has chipped them and bagged them, and on Saturday January 17th there will be free bags of mulch available to pick up from eight in the morning to noon, or until they run out.
They will be located at the city of Jackson fire training center’s south parking lot.
“It’s just so that the trees don’t go into the landfill. A way to kinda reduce, reuse, recycle. We have partnered with JEA, that comes and does the chipping, and again we just have it available for the residents,” explained Elvia Trejo, neighborhood services director for the city of Jackson.
At this time, there is no limit to how many bags people can get.
However, it is recommended to bring an extra person to help you load the bags.
