JPD charges 2 Fayette County men in early morning shooting
PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT:
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Police Department (JPD) has charged two Fayette County men in connection with an early morning shooting that occurred on Hughes Drive in Jackson, Tennessee.

On Monday, January 12, 2026, at approximately 4:25 a.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire in the area of Hughes Drive near Northside Drive. Residents of a home in the 90 block of Hughes Drive were awakened when their residence was struck multiple times by gunfire while they and their children were asleep inside.
No injuries were reported. Witnesses reported seeing two male suspects firing at the residence before fleeing the scene on foot.
The Jackson Police Department’s Major Crimes Division immediately assumed the investigation. Investigators utilized neighborhood surveillance footage in combination with the department’s FLOCK Safety camera system, which proved critical in identifying a vehicle associated with the suspects.
On Wednesday, January 14, 2026, the Jackson Police Department Gang Unit, working in coordination with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, executed a search warrant at a residence in Moscow, Tennessee, in connection with the shooting. During the search, investigators recovered evidence related to the Jackson shooting, along with multiple firearms and narcotics.
The recovered firearms were submitted for analysis through the Jackson Police Department’s NIBIN (National Integrated Ballistic Information Network) Unit. NIBIN analysis played a vital role in linking the firearms to the shooting incident and advancing the investigation.
As a result of the search warrant, Cameron Hullom, age 19, of Moscow, Tennessee, and Nehemiah Shaw, age 19, of Rossville, Tennessee, were formally charged on Wednesday, January 15, 2026, in Fayette County with felony narcotics and weapons offenses.
On Friday, January 16, 2026, Hullom and Shaw were arraigned in Jackson City Court on the following charges:
- Four counts of Attempted First-Degree Murder
- Four counts of Employing a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony
In addition, Nehemiah Shaw is being held on outstanding warrants from the Memphis Police Department for Kidnapping and Carjacking.
The Jackson Police Department commends the diligent work of its Major Crimes Division, Gang Unit, and NIBIN Unit, as well as the strong partnership with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. The successful use of the FLOCK camera system and NIBIN technology was instrumental in identifying the suspects and bringing this case forward.
