Elks Lodge lends support to the Jackson community

JACKSON, Tenn.—The Elks Lodge #192 provided free meals and winter supplies to the homeless Saturday.

The organization has been in Jackson since 1891 and their primary focus is family, community, and America.

The project was funded by a Gratitude Grant from the National Elks Foundation as well as donations made by R&J Feed, those funds were used for supplies and delivered to the community by the local lodge.

Those who stopped by received a meal but also a bag containing scarves, hats, gloves, and personal items.

“We’re holding an event to feed the homeless here. It’s the first time we’ve done this in the community. This is done by a grant from our Elks Grand Lodge. We got money from a grant to put this on,” said Lori Nally, President of Tennessee Elks State Association.
