Jackson Police Department prioritizes emergency calls during severe winter storm

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE JACKSON POLICE DEPARTMENT:

Jackson Police Department Prioritizes Emergency Calls During Severe Winter Storm

[Jackson, TN] — Due to the expected severe winter storm that will impact the City of Jackson and surrounding areas, the Jackson Police Department will temporarily prioritize the calls for service during that time to ensure the safety of the public and our officers. During this winter weather storm, officers will primarily respond to emergency calls involving injuries, life-threatening situations, and felonies in progress. Hazardous road conditions, limited visibility, and freezing temperatures require a focused response to the most critical incidents where immediate police intervention is necessary. If you must call 911 or request police service, please be advised that response times may be longer than usual due to hazardous road conditions. The Jackson Police Department asks for the public’s cooperation by utilizing alternative reporting options for non-emergency calls, including traffic accidents not involving injuries, minor property damage, or other non-urgent matters. These incidents can be reported by contacting the Jackson Police Department front desk at 731-425-8400.

Additionally, citizens are encouraged to use the department’s online reporting platform by visiting https://www.jacksontn.gov and accessing https://jacksonpdtn.policetocitizen.com to file an incident report. This system allows reports to be submitted safely from home and helps reduce unnecessary travel during dangerous weather conditions. The Jackson Police Department appreciates the community’s patience and understanding as we work together to keep everyone safe during this severe winter storm. We encourage residents to limit travel, stay informed of weather updates, and check on vulnerable neighbors when possible.
