Utility company gives tips to protect your gas meter set

WEST TENNESSEE – The West Tennessee Public Utility District is reminding customers to take precautions and care of their gas meter set during this winter weather.

The District said customers need to remember that all three stages of water (solid, liquid, and gas) will be scattered throughout the state of Tennessee this weekend. Customers need to take care to ensure their gas meter set is protected by using a broom to sweep off the snow from the meter set.

If ice accumulates, the District asks that you gently try to knock off any build-up of ice and then divert flowing water away from the meter.

West Tennessee Public Utility District reminds you that the regulator must “breathe”.
