Businesses begin to reopen as first signs of melting emerge
JACKSON, Tenn. — People across the region felt the impact of last weekend’s weather, and while many are still recovering, some are up and running.

The Jackson community remains incredibly resilient in the face of the aftermath of this past weekend’s storms.
While many businesses, schools, and restaurants remain closed, some business have been able to welcome customers back.
Green Frog Coffee Company has been closed since the storm began, but on Wednesday, they were able to reopen thanks to team members braving the roads.
Reagan Realty made the reopening special by sponsoring the first 100 customers’ free drinks.

“And it’s nice to have customers, we still need business when we can get it, we obviously don’t want anybody, you know, risking their lives or anything, but we appreciate the business that we do get and we appreciate the opportunity to still be able to work,” said barista Zoe Smith.
The hazardous weather conditions left many out of school but packed the local hills with snow and ice.
With most schools out, kids could take advantage and enjoy their time off.
While these conditions are, in some areas, impassable for drivers and business, some students were still able to take to the slopes.

The Montessori Community Center, the Sports Complex, as well as many other places around town have become places to enjoy the aftermath of the storms.
With temperatures staying cold for the next several days, business will need to continue to adapt and kids will have several snow days to enjoy.
While road conditions slowly improve, they’re still dangerous. Many people are still trying to get back to business as usual, but safety should be a top priority.
