Scotts Hill leaders working to help residents after power, water service interruption
SCOTTS HILL, Tenn.– Utility crews continue to work diligently to help hundreds left without power.
The town of Scotts Hill, which gets its electricity from Lexington Electric Service was affected by a power outage. That outage also resulted in the town losing its water service.
Scotts Hill Mayor Woody Capley says power has been restored at a couple of well sites, and some water is beginning to flow again.
The mayor says in the meantime there are resources available to help residents who are without power and water.
“We just got this generator and everything up here lately and everything. It’s come in very handy for having a warming center for both counties for people to come and get food and stay warm because you got cold people and a lot of elderly people that can’t get out and get anywhere, so we’ve furnished rides and they bring them up here when they needed to and just trying to do everything we can to try to help the community,” said Mayor Capley.
Mayor Capley says the water system will need to be re-pressurized and a boil water notice issued. The mayor hopes that water service will be restored in a couple of days.
