Hardin Co Fire responds almost 400 calls for service in 4 days
HARDIN COUNTY, Tenn. – Emergency crews in Hardin County are working tirelessly to respond to the emergencies and needs of its residents.
According to the fire chief, the HCFD has responded to almost 400 calls in 4 days. Their average is 3 to 4 calls.
As the fire chief I want to give a big shout out to our career staff and our amazing volunteer firefighters. On a normal day we respond to about 3 or 4 calls, but in the past 4 days our firefighters have answered nearly 400 calls for service in Hardin county, Including 5 house fires. They have made hundreds of welfare checks , cleared more trees then we can count , delivered many oxygen tanks , set up multiple shelters and transported nearly 50 people to the shelter as well as several to the hospital. Also A big thanks to all the citizens in the county who helped cut trees and brought out their own equipment, neighbors helping neighbors is what it’s all about! The highway department, TVEC, PEC , sheriff’s department, Hardin county E-911, TEMA, Hardin county EMA, TN Forestry, TWRA, and the national guard, Red Cross and other agencies have been working long hours during this unprecedented disaster. We still have a long way to go but with everyone working together we will get through this disaster!
