Lexington Electric System provides power restoration update

LEXINGTON, Tenn. – Lexington Electric System provided an update regarding the progress in getting power restored to its residents impacted by the winter storm.

As of Thursday, January 29,

LES has a little over 2,000 customers remaining without power. This is down significantly from the nearly 7,000 customers at the peak of our weather event.
The plan today is similar to yesterday. We will have line crews designated for certain areas throughout our system. Their primary objective is to get the necessary repairs made to get as many customers online as possible. The road conditions have improved some over the past few days, but there are still many areas on our system that are very treacherous.
We will have a significant presence on Mt Carmel Rd and the Cedar Bluff area as there was major damage to our facilities there.
There will be a crew near the Fishers Landing area along Hwy 100 between Decaturville and Perryville working to restore power to areas there.
There will be a crew designated for the southern portion of Decatur County in-between Decaturville and Bath Springs near Hwy 641 S working on some damaged facilities.
There will be a couple crews in the Scotts Hill area working on some known problem areas there.
We will have a crew working along Hwy 100 between Reagan, Scotts Hill, and Decaturville making repairs and restoring power to some of the areas there.
There will be a crew in Bath Springs along Hwy 114 going towards Clifton making repairs to some significant damages there.
We will have a crew designated for the southern and western portion of Sardis.
There will also be a crew making repairs in Saltillo and working to restore power to several different areas there, including Morris Chapel.
We will also have 4 line crews being dispatched to other isolated outages across different areas of our system, including the surrounding areas of eastern Henderson County, north Decatur County, northeast Decatur County, and east Decatur County.
If you live in any of these areas that have been mentioned, its important to know that it is not guaranteed that your power will be restored today. There are a lot of unknowns about how long it will take to make the necessary repairs to re-energize the lines in these areas.
Please be mindful of these areas where we have crews working and allow them the space to do their jobs safely and effectively.
