Man arrested for burglary and aggravated assault in Crockett County
PRESS RELEASE FROM CROCKETT COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT:
CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — Earlier Thursday evening, Terry Michael Crihfield, age 39, was apprehended following a violent incident in Friendship, Tennessee, in which he unlawfully entered an occupied home armed with a blow torch, threatening to set the residence on fire.
According to statements from the victim and eyewitnesses, Crihfield forcibly entered the home, assaulting a male victim, confronting a female victim, and leading her to his vehicle while making statements suggesting he possessed a gun. Following this encounter, Crihfield fled the scene in his vehicle, heading towards Dyer County.
The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office and investigators were immediately alerted to the situation, and a description of Crihfield’s vehicle was promptly circulated. Within minutes, Investigator Jeremy Caldwell successfully spotted the vehicle near Fowlkes on Highway 210, and with the assistance of Dyer County deputies and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), a swift response led to Crihfield’s arrest.
Crihfield is currently facing charges of aggravated assault and aggravated burglary, with additional charges pending the results of the ongoing investigation. Thankfully, the victim was located safely inside the vehicle unharmed.
