Selmer Utility Division offers help amid power disruption, freezing temps

SELMER, Tenn. — Selmer Utility Division is helping people impacted by the winter storm with their shower and water station.

They have a shower available for people to come in and use. It comes in addition to towels and soap. The showers are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Also, in the main office on 500 Peach Street they have cases of water available. Justin Coleman, utility director for Selmer Utility is asking people in the community to be on the lookout for leaks.

“We’ve cut off several several meters. You know where people’s lines have been busted in their house so, that’s slowing things down. Just want people to be on the lookout for that also, if you see anything running out from under a house anywhere between the meter and the house just call let us know, we’ll go cut if off get that taken care of. That will speed things up,” said Coleman.

If someone needs water this weekend, just call their office at 731-645-7928 and push 3, it will put you through to the after-hour employees.
