Henderson County Sheriff’s Dept. praises efforts during winter storm
From Henderson County Sheriff’s Department Tennessee:
During Winter Storm Fern, our Deputies, School Resource Officers, Sergeants, Investigators, and Captains demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism while serving our community under extremely hazardous conditions. Throughout the storm, they conducted 30 welfare checks on citizens in need, sometimes having to leave their units to complete the check on foot due to downed trees and powerlines. Furthermore, they completed 343 weather event transports, mostly for essential workers to ensure critical services remained operational. The total call volume for January 24th through February 5th has been 619 calls.
This effort was made possible through close coordination and teamwork with our partners in 911-Dispatch, Henderson County Fire Department, Emergency Medical Services, Henderson County Emergency Management, and the Highway Department. The collaboration among these agencies ensured a unified and effective response focused on the safety and well-being of our community.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all involved for their commitment, cooperation, and unwavering sense of duty during Winter Storm Fern and every day they serve our great county.
Chief, Larry Stegall
