First Presbyterian Church of Jackson presents SOUPer Bowl of Caring

JACKSON, Tenn.—A super fundraising event returns to one Jackson church, raising money for RIFA.

The SOUPer Bowl of Caring was held at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson this morning.

The annual fundraiser is hosted on Super Bowl Sunday but instead of watching football, participants can enjoy a meal as guests are invited to bring a pot of soup to share.

The event is hosted by the church’s youth who graciously handle the donations as well as serve up the soups, sides and desserts.

They also collect non-perishable food items for the pantry as well as monetary donations. The church’s pantry is especially in need after the recent Winter Storm.

Monetary funds are also accepted and donated to RIFA of Jackson, helping to continue tackling hunger within the community.

In 2025 alone, the fundraiser raked in over $3,500 for the RIFA organization.

“Today is so much fun! We see all different soups, especially after this gross weather that we’ve had with people not getting out. I think everybody has taken today to get out and make soup. We have potatoes soup, tortilla soup, pickle soup, and deer chili. We have lots of different varieties,” said Molly Richardson, Youth Director at First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.

It’s not too late to support the SOUPer Bowl of Caring, monetary donations will be accepted until February 15.
