Raising Cane’s opens in Jackson with free food giveaways, community partnerships
JACKSON — Raising Cane’s officially opened its doors in Jackson Tuesday, drawing crowds of customers eager to try the chicken chain’s offerings.

The restaurant, located on Vann Drive in north Jackson, celebrated its grand opening with promotional giveaways for early customers. The first 100 customers received free Cane’s meals and merchandise, according to Cody Fessell, area leader of restaurants for Raising Cane’s.
“For the first 100 customers they actually got some free Cane’s. They are also getting some swag. Anybody that was in line before 9 a.m. they entered to win free Cane’s for a year,” Fessell said.

Jake Schotter was the first customer in line and received a Caniac combo meal, drink, basket and hat from the restaurant.
“Well they gave me a wonderful Caniac combo and drink. A nice basket and hat and I look forward to opening what’s in it,” Schotter said. “It’s much better than finger lickin good.”
Community involvement planned
Fessell said the restaurant plans to be involved in the Jackson community beyond serving food.
“We have amazing community partnerships where we are donating to no kill animal shelters. We are finding youth groups, churches, organizations that are just looking to feed people,” Fessell said.
The restaurant operates from 10 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and until 1 a.m. on weekends.
