Treasure’s Love Bears bring joy to children in local hospital
JACKSON, Tenn.— In honor of Valentine’s Day, one group is bringing joy to some very special local children.
The Treasure’s Love Bears event took place Saturday at Jackson Madison County General Hosptial. The group visits the LeBonheur floor each year to provide Valentine’s Day bears to children in the hospital.
The event was created by Treasure Thaxton, who herself was once a bear recipient, giving her the determination to continue the tradition.
The bears are a way to spread love, hope and uplift spirits of children confined to the hospital on the holiday.
Treasure raises funds each year to obtain the bears and with the help of dedicated family and friends is able to host the event annually.
“It’s truly been a blessing to Treasure Love Bears and to Treasure. She’s excited every year to be able to distribute teddy bears on Valentine’s Day. This is the 21st year and we are so proud of her,” said Tierra Thaxton, Teddy Bear Director.
