West Tennessee Healthcare partners with Jackson Symphony to record Brahms Lullaby for newborns
JACKSON, Tenn. — West Tennessee Healthcare debuted a newly recorded Brahms Lullaby performed by the Jackson Symphony played each time a baby is born at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

This collaboration celebrates new life while highlighting the healing power of music and the strength of local partnerships.

The familiar Brahms Lullaby, now recorded by the full Jackson Symphony adds a meaningful, community-centered touch to one of life’s most joyful moments and will be played more than 3,400 times each year as babies are born at Jackson-Madison County General hospital.

“We really wanted to do two things: improve the quality of our lullaby but also partner with the community. So what better to do than to ask the Jackson Symphony with this project. It was a perfect match,” said Deena Kail, vice president of hospital operations with WTH.
This marks the first time the hospital will use a locally recorded version of the lullaby, replacing the longtime public-domain recording.
