Law enforcement investigation underway in Chester County

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Law enforcement agencies conducted an investigation in Chester County that began Monday evening and continued into Tuesday morning.

Residents reported a helicopter flying low near Howard Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday, prompting questions on social media about the law enforcement presence in the area.

An anonymous tip indicated someone was found near a residence on Howard Road. Social media posts claimed law enforcement remained in the area throughout the night.

Chester County Sheriff Mark Griffin said Jackson Police Department was leading the investigation, explaining the presence of JPD vehicles at the scene.

Crime tape blocked the driveway of one residence and stretched across the street, appearing to block off a ditch area. The situation appeared to be concluding by Tuesday morning.
