The Formed church hosts free community event

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local church reaches out to the community in a unique way.

The Formed held a community block party Saturday on Carriage House Drive in north Jackson.

The event offered a day of fellowship, hot food, community resources, free groceries, haircuts, bouncy houses for the kids and fun for everyone!

“We are out here to be the church. It’s not just about going to church anymore it’s about being the church. And that’s what we plan to do at The Formed church, we plan to be out in the community, taking church outside,” said Christie Haley, Missions director, The Formed.

Leaders with The Formed say they were excited to offer this day to the community but more importantly share the love of Christ.

I do know we have at least a 2-foot-pool that we can baptize in, and yeah we’ve had people walking up and saying ‘Hey I need prayer, I’ve got a broke arm, I’ve got a bad leg, a bad back’, and we’re laying hands on people and praying healing,” Haley said.

The community was able to take advantage of the free services and resources while supplies lasted.

The Formed holds services on Sundays beginning at 10:30 in the morning. It’s located at 2125 Express Drive in north Jackson.
