We Will Bottom Out Tonight From the Cold Spell, Mid Week Storms/Showers Will Return!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It has been a brisk day behind the weekend cold front. We fell down to the mid 20s this morning but it felt in the low teens at times due to those blustery northerly winds. We will bottom out tonight to around 20° with the clear skies and calm winds. The winds will return to the south on Tuesday and will be breezy again. But the southerly winds will start a warming pattern and we should get above 50° by the late afternoon hours. Another system is coming in the middle of the week that will bring more rain showers and possibly some storms with it back to West Tennessee. We will have the latest on the cold as well as a detailed look at the midweek rain and storm chances coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Expect a cold night coming for all of us, but breezy southerly winds are coming back on Tuesday and that should usher in a nice warm up for the middle of the week. Some showers and storm chances will return in the middle of the week as well. As of now, the severe weather threat in our area looks low, but we are expecting it to get a bit stormy at times. Tuesday morning lows could fall into the upper teens for some of us making for a cold night with the clear skies and calm winds.
Tuesday will be packed full of sunshine as well. The winds will increase as the day goes on and start to come out of the south. The southerly winds will start to warm things up and increase the humidity just a touch. Highs will make it up to the low 50s by the afternoon after a cold start. Tuesday night the winds will be weaker but not calm keeping overnight temperatures up, only falling down to the mid 40s. Gusts could get as high as 30 MPH in the afternoon.
Wednesday is going to be a warm day and the humidity will be going up as the day goes on as well. That will bring in a chance for some showers and maybe a few weak storms as the next system approaches from the northwest. Highs will reach the low 60s and clouds will build in as the day goes on. The winds will be quite breezy as well as come out of the south most of the day. A front will move through late Wednesday and stall out into Thursday morning. Wednesday night lows will only dip to the low 50s due to the clouds and lingering moisture.
Showers and storms are expected off and on during the day on Thursday. Highs will reach the low 60s still but the winds will shift from the south to the northwest early in the day. Depending on where the front stalls out will determine the severity of the potential storms to develop in our area. As of now, we are expecting the stronger storms and severe weather to stay south of our area on Thursday. If we do get a few stronger storms, they will probably come in Wednesday night or early in the day on Thursday.
The skies will clear out Thursday night allowing temperatures to fall to the mid to upper 30s by Friday morning. Friday is going to be a decent day as Thursday’s system will clear out quickly. We should see plenty of sunshine on Friday with generally calm winds. Highs will make it up close to 60° before falling back down to the upper 30s overnight into Saturday morning.
