TDECD hosts regional meeting to discuss local ‘opportunity zones’
JACKSON, Tenn.–Federal and state leaders come to town to host regional meetings for what they’re calling ‘opportunity zones’ in Madison County.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development hosted a regional meeting to discuss opportunity zones or ‘ozs’ .
‘Ozs’ are a community development tool established by congress in the tax cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, designed to drive long-term capital to low-income communities.
They provide a unique chance to transform communities, empower residents and create lasting economic resilience through collaborative investment strategies.
