Burpee marks 150 years with limited seed collections tied to America 250
JACKSON, Tenn. — One gardening brand is celebrating a huge milestone and is encouraging Americans to get their hands dirty.
Burpee is celebrating their 150th anniversary. Burpee was founded back in 1876, and has spent the last 150 years helping shape home gardening in America.
We spoke with research coordinator and horticulturalist, Kira Silvestri, who shares some useful tips before you put the shovel in the ground.
“So I would say the number 1 thing is pay attention to your environment, select varieties that match that environment instead of fighting against that nature. And their for you can naturally set your self up for better yields and stronger growth,” said Silvestri.
To celebrate their anniversary and America 250, they are releasing limited time seed collections themed after the nation’s past.
