Great Weather Coming on Friday & Saturday, More Showers & Storm Chances Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
A cold front is slowly pushing south of West Tennessee and will be pushed out by an area of high pressure that will be moving in on Friday. The front is sparking up some showers and storms this evening. We are watching a storm north of Little Rock that might try to hold together and get close to Memphis later this evening but most of the activity will stay south of the Tennessee border tonight. Very nice weather is coming on Friday and we should reach the mid 70s on Saturday. Another weak front will drift though on Sunday and could bring a few late weekend showers. Temperatures will drop back down to near normal on Monday before we warm back up into 70s again by the middle of next week. Catch the latest radar tracking and complete forecast coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Showers and a few weak storms popped up during the first half of the day on Thursday. Highs still reached the low to mid 60s still for most of us, but the winds also shifted from the south to the northwest in the middle of the day as the front passed through. Depending on where the front stalls out will determine the severity of the potential storms to develop in our area later tonight, but it looks like most if not all of them are going to stay south of us. Some severe storms are expected this evening in Mississippi and Alabama, but not in our area. A few lightning strikes will pop up this evening near our southern border with a couple of the storms.
The skies will clear out Thursday night allowing temperatures to fall to the low 40s by Friday morning. There could be some patchy fog overnight into Friday morning due to the clear skies, calm winds and humidity hanging around 100 all night. Friday is going to be a great day as Thursday’s system will clear out quickly and high pressure moves back on in. We should see plenty of sunshine on Friday with generally calm winds. Highs will make it up close to 70° before falling back down to the low 40s overnight into Saturday morning.
