Madison County Fire Department responds to residential structure fire

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MADISON COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT:

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — At approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Madison County Fire Department units responded to a reported residential structure fire in the south part of Madison County.

Upon arrival, crews reported smoke and fire visible from the residence and immediately initiated an interior fire attack. Firefighters worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire; however, the home was ultimately declared a total loss.

The cause of the fire has been determined to be electrical in nature.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. The American Red Cross has been notified and is assisting the displaced family.
