City of Jackson holds budget committee meeting

JACKSON, Tenn. — The city of Jackson held a budget committee meeting Friday.  We spoke with the chairman of the budget committee, Frank McMeen, who says he and other committee members are asking for complete transparency for future budget proposals. He says they don’t want to have any surprises regarding contracts that extend over a year. They also talked about the recent Chick-fil-a contribution.

“That $350,000 dollars that came from Chick-fil-a, that’s the amount that we are going to spend or less to make that interchange work better. It’s a very difficult intersection to deal with,” said McMeen.  “As everyone in our city knows, it’s just a hard intersection to deal with because of the amount of traffic.”

The new Chick-fil-a build is currently taking place at the intersection of Vann Dr. connecting to Emporium Dr. and Stonebridge Blvd.
