Fire teams in Gibson County respond to grass fire

GIBSON CO., Tenn.,—According to officials from the City of Gibson Fire Department, a joint effort Saturday morning with Gibson County Fire Department Stations 2 and Station 6 allowed for fire teams to quickly contain a grass fire outside of Trenton.

Grass Fire Quickly Contained North of Trenton

Gibson, TN — At approximately 10:56 a.m., the City of Gibson Fire Department along with Gibson County Fire Department Station 2 and Gibson County Fire Department Station 6 was dispatched to a reported grass fire north of Trenton.

Upon arrival, firefighters located a grass fire in a rural area. Crews acted quickly to contain the fire within minutes, preventing it from spreading further and protecting nearby property.

Damage was minimal, and there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire was determined to be outside burning.

The City of Gibson Fire Department would like to remind residents that burn permits are required in Tennessee from October 15 through May 15. Burn permits can be obtained online at www.burnsafetn.org.

We encourage everyone to follow all state guidelines and safety precautions when conducting outdoor burning to help prevent wildfires and protect lives and property.
