Junior Auxiliary of Humboldt making prom dreams come true

HUNBOLDT, Tenn.—One group at a local high school is helping others have the Prom of their dreams.

The Junior Auxiliary Club at Humboldt High School officially opens its Prom Closet.

Dress seekers could check out the closet set up at the Humboldt High School Library from 9 until noon Saturday.

The closet is open to anyone in need of a dress for the big night, and the best part is, it’s all free.

Members of the organization collect new or slightly used formal wear and other items to add to the offerings.

They also have a nice selection of shoes, accessories, as well as makeup items.

“It honestly feels really good, because prom can be really financially taxing. And so, just being able to help, even if they can’t find a dress, but getting shoes or accessories; just to lessen that a little bit just feels amazing,” said Sara Cox, Project Chair of Jr. Auxiliary of Humboldt.

For anyone who missed the event and still needs a prom dress, they can contact the Junior Auxiliary ladies via Facebook at Junior Auxiliary of Humboldt, and they will try to accommodate those needs.
