Kansas City airport evacuated after possible threat, FBI investigating

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) – Travelers at the Kansas City International Airport are being evacuated after a possible threat.
The Kansas City Aviation Department confirmed the evacuation to KCTV and said KCI Airport Police are working with the FBI to determine if the threat is credible.
The incident was reported just before noon on Sunday.
“The FBI is aware of the incident and our personnel are working with city and airport partners to determine the credibility of the threat,” an FBI spokesperson said.
Flights to and from the airport have been grounded. Traffic is being diverted away from the airport.
Photos show passengers being led off planes onto the tarmac and others leaving the terminals.
