TWRA: Public comment period open for 2026-27 hunting and trapping seasons proposals

NASHVILLE — A public comment period is now open for the 2026-27 hunting and trapping seasons proposals presented by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) at the March 6-7 meeting of the Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC). The public can provide comments on all proposals through April 2.

The Commission will vote on the 2026-27 proposals at its April 16-17 meeting, to be held in Knoxville. Once approved, the regulations will take effect on Aug. 1.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
