Extreme Wind Storms Possible Sunday, Few Flurries Monday Morning!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Enjoy Saturday because the quality of the weather is going to be falling off quickly during the day on Sunday. A fast moving powerful cold front will be coming our way during the day kicking up the winds in the afternoon. The storms will be showing up around sunset and clearing out by midnight. Extreme straight line winds gusting up to 70mph can be expected along the storm line. On top of the straight line winds, some spin up tornadoes will also be possible along the leading edge of the storms. This is looking like a dangerous storm event here in West Tennessee as we are already under an enhanced risk (3/5) with the potential for an upgrade to a level 4. Please monitor the storms closely Sunday night. On the backside of the front, some snow flurries will be possible as well on Monday morning, although accumulations are not expected. Monday night we will be smashing the low temperature record as well falling down to around 20° to kick off our Tuesday morning. Catch the latest on the winds, the storms, the snow and the cold coming up here.
THIS WEEK:
Thursday and Friday were really nice days for all of West Tennessee. Thursday was cooler with highs reaching the upper 50s and Friday we warmed back up to the upper 60s to near 70°. The humidity was low on Thursday but will increase some this weekend again. Thursday night lows will fell down to around 40° for most of us. Friday night lows will be little higher, but it will still be a bit chilly to kick off the weekend into the low to mid 40s. We saw sunny skies for the most part on Thursday and Friday and the winds came out of the north on Thursday but slowly moved back to the south during the day on Friday!
THIS WEEKEND:

NEXT WEEK:
We are looking at a very chilly start to next week but should start to warm back up again by the middle of the week. We will be back up above normal as we wrap up the work week. The system Sunday night will bring a near 40° temperature drop with it as well as a chance for some light snow on the backside early Monday morning before it clears out. Record lows are coming Tuesday morning as well. Monday morning we will start our around freezing and barely make it up to around 40° in the afternoon. The wind chill will make it feel in the 20s at times on Monday. Tuesday highs will reach the mid 40s but highs will get close to 60° on Wednesday. Rain is not in the forecast as of now for next week. The winds will start out of the northwest to kick off the week but turn to the south by Wednesday and stay in that general direction into the weekend.
