Jury finds Darrell Davis not guilty in retrial for 2017 killing of Tyion Taylor
HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — Darrell Davis, who was convicted in the 2017 murder of Tyion Taylor, has been found not guilty at retrial.

On July 1, 2025, Haywood County Circuit Judge Clayburn Peeples ordered a new trial for Davis.
That decision followed a December 2024 hearing in which Davis’ defense argued potential legal errors may have compromised his original case.
A jury acquitted Davis of all charges Thursday, including murder in the first degree by killing another in perpetration of robbery, especially aggravated robbery, and three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
