Average US gas prices climb closer to $4
BY CNN NEWSOURCE STAFF
(CNN) – The pain at the pump continues.
According to AAA, gas prices climbed to an average of $3.68 a gallon on Saturday. That is a 23% increase since the Iran conflict began on Feb. 28.
It doesn’t appear customers will be seeing relief anytime soon.
Brent Oil prices closed above $100 a barrel on Friday.
Oil prices historically move a few days ahead of gas prices, which means gas prices are expected to increase.
The rise in fuel prices has been triggered by Iran effectively cutting off oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
