Billy Joe Horton

Mr. Billy Joe Horton, 89, of Union City passed away 10:50 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Shawn White and Brother Rick Burton will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Tom Brown, Will Horton, Bobby Moore, Bobby Morton, Adam Nelson and John Wilson.

Mr. Billy Joe was born December 10, 1936, in Hazen, Arkansas, son of the late Virgil Clark and Etta (Minton) Horton. He married Jacqueline Jean (Snyder) “Jackie” Horton July 2, 1956. She passed away June 17, 2025. He worked for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company from 1970-1998 and was a cherished member of the First Baptist Church Woodland Mills for 36 years, where he found joy in his church family. He also loved yard sales, flea markets and being a handyman.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Ramona McKinney (Jeff) of Vinton, Louisiana, Ricky Horton (Jo Ann) of Union City, Rhonda Pigg (Bobby) of Union City, Rojeana Brown (Tom) of Decatur, and Rochelle Moore (Bobby Joe) of Union City; eleven grandchildren, Crystal Brooks, Gary Horton, Jennifer Fountain, KaLisa Morton-Pierce, Jentri Nelson, Amber Morton, Will Horton, Jorgianna VonBuskirk, Asatin Moore, Danielle Brown and Caitlynn Morton; and sixteen great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Dutton; one sister, Maxine Holland; and three brothers, Ralph Horton, Bob Horton and Donnie Horton.
