Woman dies after getting caught under float at St. Patrick’s parade, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) – A woman in Kentucky died after getting caught under a float in a St. Patrick’s Parade, according to authorities.
Louisville Metro Police were dispatched at around 4 p.m. on a report of someone being hit by a vehicle in the area of the St. Patrick’s Parade.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a woman participating in the parade was walking alongside a float when, for an unknown reason, her foot got caught by the float. She then fell and got caught under the vehicle and was struck.
She was taken to a hospital where she eventually died.
