Jackson Exchange Club names JPD officer Christopher Krobath Officer of the Year

JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Exchange Club honored Jackson Police Department Officer Christopher Krobath as its Officer of the Year Tuesday, presenting him with a plaque in front of friends, family, and fellow officers.

Krobath has been with the Jackson Police Department for two years, serving as a patrol officer and a SWAT team member. The award recognizes officers who go above and beyond in their duties.

JPD Chief Thom Corley attended the meeting alongside other department leadership.

“We appreciate the Exchange Club recognizing our folks and recognizing Officer Krobath for everything he’s done. I appreciate the Exchange Club. Thank you so much for having us,” Corley said.

Surprise proclamation

The ceremony included an additional honor: a proclamation from Jackson Mayor Scott Conger. Krobath said he had no idea the event was planned.

“No, they told me we were meeting for SWAT today. They got us together, and I thought we were briefing for something for SWAT. Then we walked in here, and my girlfriend walked in, and I still had no idea until they started reading it,” Krobath said.

Before joining JPD, Krobath spent years in the Navy and later worked with police departments training K-9s. He accepted the award and thanked those in attendance for their support.
