Day 2 of Jackson Dog Fanciers’ dog show
JACKSON, Tenn.– Competition continues at the annual all-breed dog show.
The Jackson Dog Fanciers Association is hosting its 2026 dog show this weekend in Jackson.
The event kicked off on Friday and continues through Sunday.
The competition takes place at the Jackson Fairgrounds Park with over 400 dogs expected at the event this year. Some of those dogs coming from states all across the U.S.
This year, the show includes a 4- to 6-month-old puppy competition along with the National Owner Handled Series. And Saturday it also includes a Best Bred-By in Show event.
The turn out was tremendous for both contestants and spectators alike.
Just a few of the breeds seen Saturday included Dalmatians, Schnauzers, Golden Retrievers and more. Judging begins at 8 a.m. followed by group judging later at 3:30 p.m.
“So these dogs here are competing for what AKC calls titles. So, they are being judged on a breed standard. So, they’re trying to find the best of the best. The end of each day, we have the Best in Show, which will be the best dog represented by their standard, right here in this facility. And they’re just earning points so that they can get bigger titles, and possibly move on to bigger shows, like Westminster, anything like that,” said Cathi Roberts, board member for the Jackson TN Dog Fanciers Association.
The Jackson TN Dog Fanciers Association was created in 1996 and has presented dog shows for almost 20 years.
