Fentanyl found inside Barbies sold at discount store, police say

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) – Police said fentanyl was found inside Barbie doll packages sold at a discount store.
On Saturday, the Independence Police Department was contacted by security at Cargo Largo about a suspicious powder found inside a Barbie doll package. Tests determined the substance was fentanyl.

Police worked with Cargo Largo and determined five contaminated Barbie doll packages were sold. All five packages were found hours later.
Police said they do not believe there are fentanyl-contaminated Barbies at other stores.
No injuries related to the contaminated Barbie dolls have been reported.
A suspect is in custody, according to police.
