Hours-long standoff ends with arrest in McKenzie
McKENZIE, Tenn. — A man was taken into custody following a standoff in a McKenzie neighborhood Tuesday evening.

WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News began receiving calls around 7 p.m. from tipsters regarding a heightened law enforcement presence in a neighborhood along Tennessee Street in McKenzie. Neighbors said the incident started around 5 p.m.

A WBBJ crew arrived on scene around 8:30 p.m. and found law enforcement outside of a house. Several law enforcement agencies including McKenzie Police, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Madison County Sheriff’s Office surrounded a home in the 100 block of Tennessee Street and talked to someone inside using a bullhorn.
Officers were seen taking a man into custody in handcuffs just after 9:15 p.m.
McKenzie Police Department confirmed the incident was a standoff. A police report is expected to be released to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News containing further details.
