Hyatt Place Jackson opens with dedicated space for families of sick children
JACKSON, Tenn. — A unique style hotel opens in Jackson, one of two of its kind in this area.
The Hyatt Place Jackson hotel hopes to bring a modern, upscale experience to the city while also helping families in need.
The entire second floor of the building is dedicated to providing accommodations for families with sick children through the Ronald McDonald House Foundation.
“Well first of all it’s about community it’s about love, and it’s family and what the Ronald McDonald house does for our community, is just amazing. For Jr. Ross to invite me to be a part of this, it was his vision, I just kind of took it and ran with it and working with Jill and the Ronald McDonald leadership has just been amazing,” said David Hunt.
The grand opening featured a ribbon cutting, a grand tour, as well as remarks from local leaders in Jackson.
One family has already stayed on the Ronald McDonald house floor and Breanne Huguenard from the foundation tells us what that experience was like.
“They’re from Paris, Tennessee, so I think it’s just really amazing for them not to have to travel so far to be near their child. We were just excited to have them, we’re a warm welcome and hopefully a welcoming place, a home away from home as long as they need us,” said Huguenard.
With the location so close to downtown, guests can have access to healthcare facilities, shopping, and the business district. The hotel also features the first Vicari restaurant in Jackson. The chain has 20 locations and specializes in Italian cuisine.
The Hyatt Place Jackson is located at 518 West Forest Avenue near Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
